We were recently appointed as an International Consultant to the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigeria.

About the REA project

We are an International Consultant to the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigeria on its mini-grid initiatives. REA is the Implementing Agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria tasked with electrification of rural and unserved communities.

The REA mini-grid project is a UN funded project which aims to expand energy access across Nigeria and revolutionise how rural communities use electricity in agriculture.

The primary objective of this assignment is to develop frameworks and strategies for the REA’s minigrid projects in rural communities to ensure effective monitoring, quality management and coordinated knowledge sharing.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project and Stakeholder Coordinator to work as a contractor. As our new Project Manager for the REA Project, your primary responsibility will be to efficiently coordinate and mobilise the project stakeholders such as mini grid end-users, small holding farmers, women in agricultural communities, REA and UN to ensure their demands are met throughout the project deliverables.

You will ensure the timely design and completion of surveys targeting stakeholders’ in and outside Nigeria.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced project or program manager with a proven track record in sustainability focused projects. You will contribute to a forward-thinking and rapidly expanding organisation, where your work will have a meaningful impact.

You will be required to:

Develop and execute a comprehensive Project and stakeholder Management Programme.
Plan, lead, and facilitate regular project meetings, documenting and driving actionable outcomes.
Design, implement, and deliver the Project and Stakeholder Engagement Plan in close collaboration with the wider project team.
Design community surveys and present project data.
Provide advice for stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
Collaborate with in-house and client’s teams to deliver the project goals.
Work on other company projects in a project management capacity
Requirements

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

A university degree in project or stakeholder engagement
Strong organisational and project management skills (formal qualification in project management preferred, but not essential).
Excellent communication, presentation and reporting writing skills
Excellent IT skills
Demonstrable experience in stakeholder coordination and engagement
Desirable Experience

Experience in project and stakeholder management in UN or community focused projects
Experience and knowledge of the Nigerian rural communities
Interest in energy and sustainability

£40-48k per annum pro rata (daily rate of £166-£200), depending on experience
